The CoE was a Guest of Honour of the 54.
International Book Fair in Warsaw.
The CoE stand at the IBF – the biggest (300 m2) stand in the main hall of the Palace of Culture and Science,
was organised by the IOCE.
The main idea was to present the activities of the CoE and its publications.
The Fair was held under the honorary auspices of the President of Poland.
The main hosts of the event were the Minister of Culture and National Heritage,
the Marshall of Mazovian Voivoidship,
and the Mayor of the City of Warsaw.
About 500 participants and 52 000 visitors took part in the biggest Polish book fair.
The IOCE Warsaw has prepared a number of activities:
20 May.
Opening ceremony – concert of the Academic Choir of the University of Warsaw.
200 participants.
21 May (targeted specifically at professionals).
Promotion of the book “60 Years of the Council of Europe.
Setting and implementation of legal standards” (published by the IOCE),
by H.
Machinska.
21 May.
Promotion of language learning materials – presentation of publications (CODN and ECML Graz)
22 May.
Conference on Safety measures in internet – CoE standards,
organised by IOCE Warsaw and Orange Foundation.
Presentation of CoE standards and programs concerning safety in electronic media.

Promotion of the CoE campaign “Speak-out against discrimination” in sport organised by the IOCE.
Meeting with Ms Elżbieta Radziszewska,
Government Plenipotentiary for Equal Status,

and sport journalists; signing of a petition against discrimination in sport; presentation of the publication “Legal instruments for combating racism on the Internet”.
